What is KID STOP?
Consider us an "on-call" child care establishment. We're here if you need us. A child can play one time or many times and parents pay just for the time the child plays. Use us when you go to the doctor, the gym, holiday and birthday shopping, get a pedicure or haircut, or have lunch with your friends.
-
Why does KID STOP have a drop-in policy instead of guaranteed enrollment?
This open door concept keeps our rates low and gives parents the flexibility to bring their child in to play whenever they want to. Parents are not committed to a certain day of the week or specific time of day that their child can play.
-
Why does KID STOP require registration and immunizations?
The registration fee is necessary to process your information and for us to know how many children may drop in. Because KID STOP is a licensed child care facility, immunizations are required by Kansas state law.
-
Why does KID STOP have so many payment options?
We want to meet every parent's needs for child care. Some parents need child care daily; some need it after school, and some just on the weekends. And still others only need it in emergencies or sporadically. We are proud to accommodate all of these cases.
-
Why does KID STOP offer monthly memberships? Why not keep it strictly a drop in on a first come, first served basis?
Monthly memberships allow us to keep the rates low. But more importantly, it allows KID STOP to have staff available to care for a child whenever the parent decides to drop in. Strictly drop-ins are difficult to staff, and often times, children are turned away because not enough staff are present to care the children.
-
Can I make a reservation?
Yes. We encourage reservations to guarantee your child a spot at KID STOP. If you know that you will need care at a specific time, a reservation will guarantee your child a spot.
-
Do 3 year olds to 12 year olds play in the same area?
No. Children are kept with other children of their own age. This allows for the activities to be appropriate for that age group.
-
What does my child need to bring with them?
Energy! Socks. Change of clothes (infants to 3 years). A sheet and blanket if napping. A snack if needed. Please label all items with your childs name. Infants should bring diapers, wipes, a fitted crib sheet, and prepared bottles. We provide a refrigerator for snacks and bottles.
-
What happens if my child soils their clothes?
We will change their diaper and dress them in the clothes provided by parents. If parents do not provide a change of clothes, KID STOP will dress them in KID STOP attire and the parents are charged for these items.
-
What if my child gets sleepy?
A child may take a nap whenever the child is sleepy. Please provide a sheet and blanket if your child will be napping.
-
What if my child gets hungry?
Snacks may be brought by parents or purchased from us. A snack menu is posted in the lobby.
-
How can I be sure there is space for my child to play before we visit?
Make a reservation to guarantee a spot. We provide care on a first come, first served basis.
-
How does KID STOP handle unruly children?
An unruly child is immediately separated from the situation and redirected. If the child is old enough, the unruly behavior is explained and corrected with alternative behaviors.
-
Do you potty train?
No. If your child is potty training, he or she will remain in the toddler room until completely trained. Please inform our staff if your child is potty training so they may assist him or her.
-
Do you change diapers?
Yes. Please provide diapers and wipes for your child.
-
Do you provide care for children with special needs?
KID STOP does not provide one-on-one care. We care for children with special needs depending on the amount of supervision required to care for the child's needs.
-
What forms of payment do you take?
Debit cards, credit cards, cash and checks.
-
Do you offer refunds?
No.
-
Do you offer special programs?
Yes. Programs will be posted when offered.
-
Do you have birthday parties?
Yes. You can reserve a room at KID STOP for a special occasion. Please ask about the party specials in our unique rooms.
-
What do I do if my child forgets socks or change of clothes?
We provide socks and a change of clothes. Socks cost $3 and tops and bottoms are $5 each. Diapers are $1 each. Our clothing has the KID STOP logo on it and is for sale to the general public.
-
Where can my child store his shoes?
We have cubbies in the lobby and in the infants and toddlers rooms. These cubbies are small, therefore we ask that you not bring excess items to KID STOP. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items.
